Marcus French Honored by Socket
Columbia, Mo. — Socket is proud to announce that Marcus French is the recent recipient of Socket's You Make The Difference award. Each month, Socket employees nominate their co-workers for the distinction and then vote on the winner who best reflects Socket's Core Values and Beliefs for the month.
French joined Socket, a Missouri-based telephone and Internet provider, in 2005 as a technical support representative. Since then, he has held positions in the business center, modem support, management information systems, and now engineering. His current duties involve processing telecom orders, troubleshooting network problems and transferring business phone numbers to Socket's network.
"I'm truly honored for this recognition since the competition is always so stiff," said French. "This wouldn't be possible without my incredible co-workers who have always made the difference to me."
French enjoys working at a Missouri phone and Internet provider because he has strong ties to the state. He has roots in Versailles, Mo., where his grandparents Lee Francis and Fanny French lived. French also has an impressive history of working within the technical support and telecommunications fields. While living in Kansas City, he worked as a help desk technician for the Office Technology Information Systems at City Hall and as a computer systems engineer at American Century Investments. Since then, he has worked as a systems support analyst for Sprint in Kansas, a support technician for Nextel in Denver, and a repair technician at Fera Technologies in Columbia.
"No one is more deserving of this honor," said John Dupuy, co-owner. "Marcus' dedication and commitment to the customer is second to none."
